Andhra Mudda Pappu | Traditional South Indian recipe
Andhra Mudda Pappu is a traditional South Indian recipe made using toor daal. Try muddapappu with a little bit of ghee, along with piping hot rice and avakaya (mango pickle).
Ingredients:
Kandi Pappu (Toor dal) - 1 cup
2 Cups of water
Garlic - 4 flakes
Karvepaaku (Curry Leaves) - 2 Stems
Jeelakarra (Cumin seeds) - 1 teaspoon
Oil - 1 tablespoon
Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
Salt to taste

Method :
- Wash kandi pappu thoroughly.
- Mash garlic cloves and Jeelakarra and keep aside.
- Now take a Pressure cooker. Add kandi pappu, water, mashed garlic and jeelakarra, karvepaaku, oil and turmeric powder.
- Pressure cook it for 15minutes in low flame.
- Remove it and add salt according to taste.
- Serve hot with rice and ghee.
